JANUARY 2010 MATCH CANCELLED!

Further to tonight’s committee meeting it was decided to cancel the match on Sunday 10th January 2010 at Hawkenbury on the River Beult.

The decision was made because of the freezing conditions & forecast of heavy snow over the weekend.
Our still waters are frozen over & the rivers have ‘cat ice’ around the edges & are coloured & high.

Barry spoke to a few of the other match men (Kevin, Colin etc.) before the meeting & they were of the same opinion.

Barry is going to try & contact all those who attended last year’s matches & advise them.
Like last year we will now only run 6 winter league matches, best 5 to count.

In 2011 we start the winter league series in March, dropping the first two during the colder months of January & February, so much for “global warming”!

tony , what about the return of the silverware ? how are you going to get them ?

Yes a problem with all the snow etc. I’m off up north (hopefully) so will have to meet up sometime from w/c 18-01-2010.
There are 12 outstanding, I believe 3 are yours, not a problem as long as I get them before the AGM on the 5th Feb.
The engraving for them will now have to wait until next year.
I’ll give you a ring.
