| Bill's Lake is a twenty-year-old ex-gravel works situated in North Eastern France, 20 miles south of Reims in the Marne Valley near the village of Matougues. The 14 acre lake opened in April 2002 and had never been fished by carp anglers. It contains a good head of resident and stocked fish to 50lbs+ in water with an average depth of three metres.The record stands at 54lbs.12ozs / 24+kgs, with several fish going over that magical 50lbs barrier! A large island at one end provides extra interest and the beautiful, mature setting gives the comfortable swims shelter and shade, with vehicle access to most for transporting tackle. The unique feature of Bill's lake is its 500 metre border on to the river Marne. Much has been written about how prolific this river is for carp to 50lbs+ and we can provide licences at a small cost for anglers on the lake who would like the opportunity to fish the river in the daytime.
